Toy Story (1995)

It’s honestly wild how Toy Story still feels magical after all these years. The first film has such a simple but heartfelt story about friendship, jealousy, and learning to share the spotlight, and it never stops being charming.

Woody and Buzz are one of the greatest duos in animation history. Watching Woody go from insecure and threatened to loyal and selfless hits every time, and Buzz’s slow realisation of who he really is adds so much heart and humour.

What makes this film special is that it doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone, it’s genuinely funny, emotional, and endlessly rewatchable. The animation may be the beginning of Pixar’s journey, but the storytelling already feels fully formed. It’s warm, imaginative, and captures that childhood feeling of toys having their own secret lives perfectly.

A timeless start to one of the greatest trilogies ever made.
