Toy Story 3
Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy’s toys haven’t been played with in years. With Andy about to go to college, the gang find themselves accidentally left at a nefarious day care center. The toys must band together to escape and return home to Andy.
Screening history
Toy Story 3 feels like the emotional payoff to a journey that started years earlier. It’s funny and adventurous like the others, but there’s a deeper sense of growing up and letting go that makes it hit on a completely different level.
Watching Andy prepare to move on while the toys face their own uncertain future is genuinely moving. The film balances humour with heavy emotional moments so well, and that final act… it still gets me. Every. Single. Time.
What I love most is how it respects the audience that grew up with these films. It understands that we’ve grown older alongside these characters, and it delivers a conclusion that feels earned, heartfelt, and satisfying.
A beautiful, emotional ending to one of the most consistent and beloved trilogies in film history.
