We are sharing the following statement on behalf of Lewis regarding his decision to leave YouNow.
Lewis has been considering addressing this matter for approximately a year.
During that time, he chose to remain quiet in the hope that moving forward would allow the situation to remain in the past. However, he now feels it is important to acknowledge what happened, take responsibility for his own actions, and explain the reasons behind his decision to leave YouNow.
Lewis accepts that he made mistakes. At the time, he struggled with boundaries, was not as honest as he should have been, and handled certain situations in ways that he now regrets.
He was also going through a significant personal and mental health journey, trying to find stability and return to feeling like himself again. While this provides context, Lewis recognises that it does not excuse any hurt his actions may have caused.
He offers a sincere apology to anyone he hurt, disappointed, or misled.
A particularly painful part of this experience has been the loss of someone Lewis once considered his best friend and genuinely viewed as the sister he never had.
That friendship meant a great deal to him. Being blocked, removed, and denied the opportunity to properly explain himself or have his apology heard left Lewis feeling as though the friendship and memories they shared had meant nothing.
Lewis understands that no one is obligated to forgive him, reconnect with him, or allow him back into their life. However, he remains deeply saddened that there was no opportunity for one honest conversation or a sense of closure.
More broadly, Lewis has felt shunned, ignored, unheard, and no longer accepted within parts of the YouNow community.
This has had a significant impact on his relationship with the platform. It is difficult to continue creating in an environment that has become closely associated with rejection, broken friendships, anxiety, and the feeling of no longer belonging.
This is the principal reason behind Lewis’s decision to leave YouNow.
Effective 6th August 2026, Lewis will no longer be streaming on the platform.
This statement is not intended to reopen old conflicts, seek sympathy, or encourage harassment. We strongly ask that nobody contact, attack, or speculate about any person involved on Lewis’s behalf.
Lewis is grateful for the positive memories, the people who genuinely supported him, and the experiences that helped him grow. He will now be focusing on his relationship, mental wellbeing, music, videos, restoration projects, and the future he is building beyond YouNow.
To those Lewis hurt, he is sincerely sorry.
To the person he once viewed as a sister, he wishes things could have ended differently.
To those who hurt Lewis, he is choosing to let go.
And to YouNow, thank you for the memories, but this chapter is now over.
